Liyan maintains a broad solicitor's practice in real estate, commercial lending, corporate law, and wills and estates. She advises individuals, families, private companies, developers, and financial institutions on a wide range of transactions and legal matters. Her practice includes:

• acquisitions, financings, leasing, and sales of commercial and residential real estate;

• secured lending for both lenders and borrowers;

• share and asset purchase and sale transactions, corporate reorganizations, commercial agreements, and corporate governance; and

• business succession planning, and estate planning and administration.

 Liyan is known for her thoughtful, practical approach and her ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, straightforward advice. She takes the time to understand each client's priorities and works closely with them to develop solutions that are both legally sound and commercially practical. Her analytical mindset, attention to detail, and calm, collaborative manner enable her to guide clients through matters with confidence and clarity.

 Liyan rejoined Chen & Leung after practising for several years at a national law firm and a prominent downtown Vancouver firm.

 Outside the practice of law, Liyan enjoys reading, running and travelling with her family.
