Michael L. Bromm

Michael Bromm is a partner at Chen & Leung whose practice includes commercial disputes, environmental and aboriginal litigation, human rights matters, wills and estates litigation, class actions, and professional negligence and discipline cases.

Before joining Chen & Leung, Michael was a founding partner of Burrard Law LLP, a litigation boutique firm in downtown Vancouver. Prior to that, he practiced at Stikeman Elliott LLP and Lang Michener LLP (now McMillan).

At Chen & Leung, Michael offers big firm experience and service in a leaner, more efficient and more flexible environment. He is known for aggressively and efficiently advancing his clients’ interests, and for a thoughtful and analytical approach to problem-solving that exploits all available options in the most efficient way possible.

He has appeared as counsel at all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as before administrative tribunals including the Law Society of British Columbia and the British Columbia Environmental Appeal Board.  He is heavily involved in pro bono work.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Michael studied cell biology, genetics and psychology. He researched the molecular biology of Huntington and Alzheimer diseases, co-authoring two papers in major peer-reviewed journals, and was an award-winning undergraduate teacher.  He regularly serves as a guest instructor in BC’s bar course, the Professional Legal Training Course (PLTC).

Outside his legal work, Michael is interested in boating, music and photography.
